Oil and Essence: Nature’s Grace in Large-Scale Bloom
Medium: Oil Painting (Floral Realism & Abstract)
Region: California & Hawaii
Themes: Botanical elegance, ecological celebration, artistic healing, cultural crosscurrents
For over four decades, Barbara Eberhart has brought large-scale florals to life in oil—merging technical precision with emotional serenity. Her career spans California and Hawaii, where her vivid renderings of native flora have become part of both private collections and public spaces. From quiet blossoms to bold mural installations, Barbara’s art invites viewers into a restorative pause—a moment suspended in color, form, and breath.
A graduate of California State University, Sacramento, Barbara spent 32 years immersed in the cultural and ecological richness of Hawaii. Her work earned the prestigious State Acquisition Award, with a piece placed in Hawaii’s permanent state collection.
Since returning to California in 2014, Barbara has embraced the state’s dynamic landscapes and vibrant artistic community. Her murals grace venues in Santa Barbara and beyond, and she continues to pass on her joy through workshops across Southern California. Recently, inspired by California’s shifting energy and atmosphere, she’s begun exploring abstract directions—infusing movement and intuition into her practice.
“I wholeheartedly believe in the restorative powers of art. Through my paintings and murals I hope to bestow a moment of stillness and beauty to my viewers and collectors.” — Barbara Eberhart
