Colleen Leahy’s printmaking practice is rich in both geographical movement and artistic evolution. A former Bainbridge Island resident, she began her print journey in 2010 at Inkgarden Studios, cultivating a deep connection to the Pacific Northwest’s printmaking heritage. After multiple exhibitions on the island, she joined the Seattle Printmakers and undertook advanced studies in printmaking at Pratt Institute—diving into lithography, mezzotint, screen printing, and traditional woodblock techniques.
Her visual education continued at Gage Academy, where she completed intensive drawing and painting curriculums. She’s shown her work across Washington, California, Colorado, and Idaho, and was a member of Seattle’s Gage Gallery, known for its regional emphasis and visual clarity.
Since relocating to Palm Springs, Colleen’s practice has evolved alongside the desert’s luminosity. She’s a juried member of the California Society of Printmakers, the Desert Art Center, and the Palm Desert Artists Council, bringing her Pacific Northwest sensibility into dialogue with Southern California’s rich creative terrain.
Holding a BA in Journalism from Washington State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Washington, Colleen brings a thoughtful, articulate rigor to both her studio practice and artistic community engagement.
